what a comment to make....
I want everyone to look at the comment a person name Drew left for me after my last post "I need your help". Im on here trying to garner help to do good in the community and all he had to say was...... well I let you read it. Drew I hope you're not a fan of mine. Its more to me than football and its clear to me that you are not into the people behind the mask. Thats cool but dont be a fan of mine.

Just somebody who doesn't have proper perspective. You've been a great player, teammate, role model, and influence on the local community since you've been in Chicago. Ignore the haters and the ignorant. Keep on fighting the good fight, heal up fully, and Bear down.
ReplyDeleteI will gladly stop being a fan of yours if you kindly provide me a refund. You want the fans love and help, but you can't understand how a fan can't be a fan when you’re not winning! Hard to understand why a fan would write something negative or football related on a football players blog.
ReplyDeleteI’m all for you having a foundation and lining up projects to run or complete when you are away from football, I get the whole meaning to my life above and beyond the game….I truly do. That being said YOU ARE a football player, in the middle of the season, on a week when you’re playing against the #1 rival of the franchise you collect a paycheck from.
You think a fan should be all weather, win or lose…however when the tables turn and a player acts the fool, read YOUR Brandon Marshall post (even though it applies to many other including Mr. Briggs at his 'business' time)the fans do not matter to the player, then it is simply a 'business'. Well if it's a business then I am obviously a 'customer' and the product I received for my money is worse than the drywall and plastic from China! How about a refund on some of the money paid??? Maybe we could collect refunds from the Bears Roster and apply it to your foundation? Oh wait that's not how it works right?
How many people that you personally have never met or communicated with previously in your lifetime come to your blog here because you are starting a foundation....I'll bet it's real close to 0% +-1%!! I’ll bet 80% or better come because you’re a member of the Chicago Bears, a team they love.
Now to be fair I have a real life suggestion for you. Find someone from the Packers to mentor the Bears on how to play with a little passion or the appearance of such. Even if ya have to kind of fake it, at least it makes your foster fans feel better about it.
Secondly, might I suggest a troubled soul to your foundation…this not so young fellow could use some true mentoring. His name is Lovie; Lovie has a hard time with coordination skills in high pressure situations. Maybe someone could mentor him how to make a decision without taking a lot of time outs that result in leaving him in a negative situation. Maybe someone could also help Lovie with his Rose colored glasses, you know teach him that honesty is a great policy, and that when your really a bad football club, it’s ok to NOT say we like where we are, and we think we’re a good team.
Please let me know if my refund will be processed, I have it tallied at right about $900 not a lot for you business men, but for a grocery store worker it’s about a half months pay at a job where we have to perform every week and find a way to get a job finished regardless of the circumstances. Please once it’s processed just send me half and by all means donate the other half to hiring the Green Bay mentor for the team.
Sincerely,
Drew
Drew is an unhappy Bear fan, and clearly feels cheated by both the supposed upgrades to the OL, poor play and the BS coming from Lovie this season. I dare say Ron Turner is on the list too. I seriously doubt he was having a go at your organization though, helping other people is always a good thing. Empty blog space is an easy target for the disgruntled. I wouldn't take it personally. We thought we were going to the superbowl this year, people are upset, that's all.
ReplyDeleteWow...Although it's approximately two weeks after Drew posted his reply, I am just now viewing it, and I have an opinion.
ReplyDeleteBeing that I'm a high school student, it amazes me that immaturity and stupidity still plague the majority of adults. A grocery store worker has the audacity to ask for a refund from the Bears roster because the season hasn't been going as well as he'd like? Correct me if I'm wrong, but what happened to tactfulness and common courtesy? I suppose that's not part of the grocery store bachelor's program in college.
I can understand frustration behind losing, but at the end of the day, this Drew character is not on any roster of any team in the NFL. IT's always easy to spot the problem from the outside looking in, but how about if the shoe was on the other foot. I just can't believe someone would post something like that when Mr. Clark is evidently trying to better the environment he had to grow up in. He has done a lot for our community, and my high school as a whole and we are all very grateful. People like Drew are the reasons why kids are the way they are. Not exactly role model material if you ask me.
